Britney was on Will and Grace to-night (Wednesday 22 March) play right-wing christian Amber Louise. She did okay with the mediocre script given to her (W&G has been on the downturn for the past couple of seasons). Her character is actually named Peg who's a dyke pretending to be straight.
She looks a lot like Jessica Simpson which makes me wonder if she was paroding her.
Odd that a U.S. show woud air in Canada a day before it airs in the U.S. But there you are.
Rachel Stevensof SCLUB7 reportedly in the audience of to-night's (21 03 06) American Idol episode. The camera did a pan of the audience and there she was: just one of the crowd. There was no mention of her or her connection to Simon Fuller (who created the POP IDOL franchise) who is owner of 19 management whom she is contracted with.
Sad that a pop veteran like Ms Stevens at the grande olde age of 28 is already yesterday's news. Her recent solo album is awesome and is easily one of the best releases (pop or otherwise) of 2005; critics across the board loved it. The record-buying public on the other hand did not.
Of course this makes us popsters wonder what the hell she was doing there. Is she planning a US release? Time will tell.
It would've been awesome though if she sat there with dark sunglasses, a looooong cigarette and a martini in her hand sniggering at all the performers. Sigh ...
Mel B, Melanie Brown, Scary Spice is now sporting a red 'do. Good lord. When will the girls get their shit together and release a Greatest Hits and DVD of their videos and be done with it!
Much Music wasn't criminal enough: MTV Canada has been unleashed on the unsuspecting Canadian public. They don't play videos; they have these annoying host(ess)s(es) surrounded by a studio audience; all 'in the crib' like. The poor SOB who they interview is subjected to this madness and so, unfortunately, are we. Of course the programmes they show are all American so I don't see what the point of watching the Canadian version of this now useless American franchise is.
I find Jason Orange very visually appealing . Take That (think Spice Boys) from the early 90s "Do What You Like". Robbie Williams was in this boy band who have recently announced a reunion tour - sans Robbie. I'm speechless.
It could be worse; it could be be Canadian and called "Secondary School Musical" and starring Canadian Idol rejects. Actually the Canadian idol winners are bad enough.
Nelly Furtado's latest single "Maneater" sounds like something off of Britney Spears's 'In to the Zone' album. Waiting for a mash of 'Maneater' and 'Do Something''.Only Britney would've sung it better.

The latest Posh and Becks rumours have Victoria pondering a separation from David. These latest reports are most probably rubbish; but, am I the only one who is glad that the reports at least have Victoria seeking a separation and not the other way around? Article
The UK is releasing the following CD on 13 March 2006. It contains the song 'Because of You' from Kelly Clarkson. The title 'Because of You' on a 'World's Best Mum' compilation sounds very touching in a 'paying homage to the best mom in the world!!!!!!!' kind of way. Here is an example of the lyrics to Kelly Clarkson's 'Because of You':
I will not make the same mistakes that you did I will not let myself Cause my heart so much misery I will not break the way you did, You fell so hard I've learned the hard way To never let it get that far Because of you I never stray too far from the sidewalk Because of you I learned to play on the safe side so I don't get hurt Because of you I find it hard to trust not only me, but everyone around me Because of you I am afraid
This is Nelly Furtado: !!!! Apparently her new single 'Promiscuous' was favoured over the original choice 'Maneater' because it was felt it would appeal to the 'urban market' (yuck) where as 'Maneater' was too pop (as if anything can be!) I never liked her. I hope she doesn't sing about being Portugeuse; we GET it! You're Portugeuse.
Geri Halliwell is on the cover of this week's Hello Magazine. Inside she discusses her pregnancy and (more importantly) a potential Spice Girls reunion. She looks great, eh? I think on the cover shot she kind of looks like Fergie Dutchess of York!
I can't believe that all the Spice Girls are now in their 30s; even Emma "Baby Spice" Bunton is 30!
Here's an excerpt:
7 March 2006: Yummy mummy-to-be Geri Halliwell has been opening her heart about preparing for single motherhood and the moment she found out "the most joyous news anyone can have". In a full-colour photo-report in this week's HELLO! the ex-Spice Girl reveals that her first instinct was to say "Thank you God". In issue 909, on sale from Tuesday, March 7, the attractive 33-year-old speaks to HELLO! about "the happy accident". In an exclusive interview at the gorgeous LA beachside pad she now calls home, the flame-haired singer also talks about her relationship with her baby's father. Always one to live life on her own terms, Geri is clear that although the pregnancy wasn't planned her baby won't want for love. "There was not a moment's doubt about whether this child was wanted," she confided. "The joy and the gratitude I felt were instant." Readers can also learn about her choice of godparents and how, fearing years of eating disorders had blighted her fertility, Geri had even been considering adoption.
Victoria 'Posh' Beckham and Geri 'Ginger' Halliwell 'reunited' in the past couple of months. Geri is pregnant with her first child; reports have that what led to the reunion was Geri seeking 'mother-advice' from mother-of-three Victoria.
Nice; but, not the kind of reunion Spice fans want to see. All five girls together promoting a greatest hits package: that is the reunion we want.
Don't they look fabulous in that 'pop-grand-dame-been-there-done-that' kind of way?
Rachel Stevens (of SCLUB 7) is doomed to obscurity after the flop of her second album "Come and Get It''. This album should've topped the charts, instead it limped in at no.23.
This straight-forward-no-bullshit-electro-pop album is THE best pop album of 2005 and easily one of the best since the Spice Girls released 'Spice World' in '97. A critical success, the album isn't shifting the amount of copies it should (the opposite usually being the case with pop records).Buy this album. Help support Rachel Stevens and keep good pop alive. I cannot endure another Hilary Duff or Avril Latrine song.
Paying "homage" to Gary Glitter: Leader of the Gang
Here's a little video I patched together. The song is a a cover version of Gary Glitter'sLeader of the Gang sung by The Spice Girls (sigh) in their movie Spice World. The clips are from the movie.
