Whining Wank and Rollers

Wa wa wa wa. I am tired of 'rock musicians' whining at their lack of success and blaming pop artists for it. Has it ever occurred to these people that the reason why they don't sell as many records or win as many awards (which they actually do -- I'll get to that later) is because their music sucks? Oh, no, of course not. It's because pop artists have supernatural powers that control the minds of to-day's youth and compel them to buy pop music instead of 'real' (don't make me puke) music. They continuously badmouth the pop music industry in a sad attempt to make a 'legit' name for themselves and get a little publicity.

The thing is these 'indie bands' and 'rock bands' do sell records and do win awards which makes me wonder: what the hell they are whining about? The answer is that in order to appeal 'cool' 'rock' needs to be 'anti-system' in order to survive. The minute it appears to be 'mainstream' or 'top 40' it looses all street cred (70s corporate rock anybody?). So when someone like Michael Bublé wins an award it's PR gold for rock musicians who feast on it as the perfect opportunity to play the 'woe is me the poor indie rocker who can't make it big because pop music is getting all the attention'.

Michael Bublé has mind-control powers. He's magic. In fact he never even released any music; it's all just a big marketing illusion.

Actually, no, I don't like Canadian Idol or Michael Bublé for that matter. But that's not the point.
